The dry cladding method creates a cleft of around 30 to 45 mm (1”-1.5”) in between face of the wall and stone covering, providing a layer of air cushion that acts as a thermal barrier. The appearance of stone used in dry cladding work looks spotless and aesthetically pleasing.
Advantages:
- Dry cladding is generally used for fixing steel clips, steel frames for installation purposes and for waterproofing silicone sealant.
- Dry cladding takes less time and it is a convenient method as you don't need to grout if you dry clad.
- Gry cladding helps to avoid contamination of the stone dust present in the mortar.
- Stone cladding is a wonderful choice for exterior wall cladding and can be installed mainly by two methods, namely the wet installation method and the dry installation method.
